Mallorca is synonymous with beaches and coves of world prestige, but also nature, culture, water sports, fun… There are many reasons to travel to this enclave of the Balearic Islands.
This island, almost 80 kilometres from one end to the other, stands out for its diversity. Along its 550 kilometres of coastline you will find some of the most beautiful coves and sandbanks in the Mediterranean: white beaches with all services coexist with tiny coves between pine groves and cliffs in the north. Its clear, clean waters are ideal for swimming and water sports such as scuba diving, windsurfing, fishing, sailing and even surfing.
Nature also has a prominent place. Nearly 40 percent of the territory is protected. With a landscape marked by contrasts, the areas of the Tramuntana mountain range to the north, with peaks exceeding 1,400 metres, and the Cabrera Maritime and Terrestrial National Park, a group of islands and islets located just over an hour’s sailing time, stand out.
Every corner of Mallorca is a pleasant surprise. Renting a vehicle or going on excursions are good alternatives to explore it. There are a multitude of itineraries and paths, both along the coast and inland, perfectly indicated and with information panels, which will allow you to discover its diversity on foot or by bicycle.
Culture is one of the main elements of the island. Throughout the year there are festivals, concerts, literary competitions, exhibitions… The cultural centre is occupied by the capital, Palma de Mallorca, which stands out for its historic quarter and its fun nightlife. In addition, the island is excellently communicated through the international airport of Son Sant Joan, eight kilometres from Palma, and by means of the boats and regular lines that depart from the port of Palma and Alcúdia.
