Kayak route (from Masca to Los Gigantes), Tenerife

After you have descended the Barranco of Masca on your own, we will enjoy a spectacular trip in sea kayaking extend to arrive to the port of Los Gigantes, enjoying the landscape and knowing a bit more the nature of this wonderful place. During the tour we will stop in the bay of Barranco Seco to refresh ourselves a little and to make snorkel with goggles and tube in its crystalline waters.

Tenerife Island is the biggest of the seven islands that compose the Canary Islands archipelago.
It has a volcanic origin as in the rest of the islands and an extension of approximately 2034 km2. Tenerife has a desirable weather as it is known as the endless spring island. In the centre of the island the inactive volcano of Teide raises with a height that reaches 3718m it becomes the highest summit in Spain. In the beach of Masca, there are no services of any type, so you must take a picnic and water to you.

Tenerife possesses numerous national parks, reservation areas, such as, Parque Nacional de Caldera de Taburiente, Parque Nacional de Garajonay, Parque Natural de Corona Forestal, Parque Rural de Anaga, Parque Rural de Teno, but doing a special mention to Parque Nacional del Teide, declared World Heritage of Humanity Site by the UNESCO in the year 2007 with the category of natural property of general interest. In general, Tenerife is a place where to do hiking, tourism of photography, or simply to walk calmly along any of its nature reserves is a complete enjoyment for all the senses where the diversity of the same ones are not going to let you indifferent.

More about the activity

Barranco de Masca is a hard trek, of average difficulty with 5 km that are realized in 3 hours approximately to a normal speed. If you have doubts or you do not have good equipment of hiking, don´t do it. We have other routes in kayak by the cliffs equally amazing.
If you decide to do it, you have to have in mind that:
To arrive to caserío de Masca is a long way from any tourist centre, with busy roads of many curves for which a lot of buses and rental cars pass. You must have to bear in mind to calculate your departure hour that it must be before 11 a.m. (You just know that the time to go out on
kayak in the habitual schedule is 14:30h). Barranco de Masca is realized under the responsibility of the customer. The activity contracted with us begins once we are sitting on the kayaks.
