This cultural tour of Valencia’s most important sights, is accompanied by a professional guide who will gradually unveil the city’s history.
The North Station, the Town Hall, the Central Market, the Silk Exchange, the Queen’s Square, the Virgin’s Square… Our steps will take us through the streets and squares of the Historical Centre and we will discover how this urban framework has evolved over the centuries: from its Roman origins, through the Muslim era and the Christian influence, to the present day.
We will enter the Lonja de la Seda, a masterpiece of civil Gothic architecture, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1996. The fabulous Contracting Room, with its columns, vaults and ribs, transports us to the prosperity of the Valencian Golden Age.
The Water Tribunal, Intangible Heritage of Humanity since 2008, takes place every Thursday at 12 noon at the Apostles’ Gate of the Cathedral, while the Fallas were the last incorporation of Valencia to this UNESCO list in 2016. These festivities are held between 15 and 19 March and turn the city into an open-air museum of ephemeral monuments, accompanied by music, traditional costumes and the smell of gunpowder.
